Forum Title: Customary to not replace baseboards?
Hello, I had a home retiled, and I am not pleased with the output. They damaged old tile (which is staying) in a location that enters the newly tiled rooms. There are no transitions, just two totally different tiles butting up to eachother, and my black grout looks gray. The guys knocked out the baseboard, but says installing new baseboard or putting back on the old baseboard is not their job? How is that?

We always reinstall the old baseboard. And many installers will do new if the customer wants it.

At least they installed it right, your not supposed to set tile to vertical surfaces, at least not without using grout caulk but guys always do around here. And I always give people the option of reinstalling themselves or have me do it. They should have at least noted it in the quote. I'd make them fix it all.
